Spring Concert - Pop Goes the Opera
The best of two worlds-pop and opera! You know Men Alive does them both equally well. But wait 'til you see them mash-up the two worlds. You will hear electrifying, imaginative versions of some of your favorites from both worlds: "Walkin' On Broken Glass" made famous by gay icon Annie Lennox, "With Catlike Tread" from Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance, "House of the Rising Sun" made famous in 1964 by The Animals, "Anvil Chorus" from Verdi's Il Trovatore.
This editor practically fell off the chair laughing at the men singing Bugs Bunny's and Elmer Fudd's roles in "What's Opera Doc?" during a recent rehearsal. Even Rich, the artistic director, was cracking up. Be sure to see this!
